Our client is currently seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their established production company based in the Carlow area. They are very proud to operate to the highest BRC Grade A Global Standard for Food Safety and their awards demonstrate the popularity of their products. Responsibility/Activity. * To manage technical matters across the site on a day to day basis. * To liaise with and provide technical support to Customers, HSE and other agencies as required. * Drafting of customer specifications onto ZOOM, TTL, SGS, Hamilton and Grant, Waitrose Connect etc. * To liaise with the management team to ensure that processes are in place to determine customer's needs and expectations, clearly define their requirements and to ensure that these requirements are fulfilled. * To liaise with NPD Department in relation to new product development and new product tenders and provide technical assistance in relation to ingredient declarations, allergen advice, nutrition etc. where necessary. * To oversee the laboratory testing for new product launch in relation to nutrition, chemical analysis, micro analysis etc. * Review and approval of customer labels and packaging against product specification/pack copy. * Use of customer sites such as Tesco Design and Aldi Odin for artwork approval. * Review and update specifications in respect of all purchased food ingredients, food contact materials and products to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation in conjunction with the Quality Department. * Approval of potential new suppliers including approval of new product specifications for raw materials and packaging from existing suppliers in conjunction with the Quality Department. * Completion of supplier audits and annual supplier review in conjunction with the Quality Department. * Preparing reports for and attend the Monthly Management Meeting. * Project leader for Origin Green program. * Project Leader for Environmental Management System. * Management of Food Waste for Animal Feed Documentation and HACCP system. * Responsible for Management of all Health & Safety aspects on site including completion of health & safety audits, health and safety records, accident reports/investigation, monthly health and safety meetings, completion of risk assessments. * Management of Health & Safety Consultancy on line system (Peninsula business safe on line. * Organisation and/or delivery of Health and Safety and Environmental Training on site. Experience required. Relevant Degree. 3 years working in a similar role within the Food Industry. Computer literate. Excellent time management, organisational and people management skills.
