Working with the LotusWorks team as an instrumentation engineer, you will for the assessment, design, delivery, testing, qualification and validation of all instrument and control scope to enable the start-up, commissioning and qualification of a new Bulk Drug Substance manufacturing facility. Responsibilities. Responsibility for reviewing design with A&E, vendor selection, procurement and construction management of instrument & control systems across the facility – planning through to qualification phases. Review P&IDs, instrument lists, datasheets, sequence of operations, installation details, layouts and all associated design documents on detail design phase. Evaluate vendor’s bidding documents and manage vendor shop design. Review specification of control system, field instrumentation, control valve and installation. Technical & constructability input to design reviews, risk assessments, schedule development and cost challenges. Works closely together with the Automation engineers, Process engineers, Skid Vendors and OEM Vendors to ensure deliverables are ready in time for the different milestones throughout the project. Participating in design reviews, monitoring technical and compliance and ensuring that all scope changes from original design are tracked and processed in the correct manner. Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions. Represent the I&C team during build and installation phase, directing field engineers, contractors, A&E and final user to fulfill the deliverables of the project. Monitoring & tracking I&C vendors & contractor to ensure the scope is delivered on schedule & within budget. Support pre-FAT, FAT and SAT of instrument and control systems as required. Requirements. Degree level qualification in instrument engineering, or equivalent. 5+ years’ experience in the Biotech environment delivering I&C design / commissioning / start-up. Demonstrated capability for working within complex projects, technically from initial design / development through to the validation of the facility in support of defined objectives. Capability to define and set technical direction for the A&E, I&C Vendors & Contractor Teams. Advanced knowledge of all applicable Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices. Experience using DeltaV, RIO CHARMS, Siemens, Profibus, AS-i etc. Process understanding of production processes used in upstream, downstream processes, CIP, environmental management and Utilities and have a strong knowledge of automation system architectures.
