Community Liaison Officer
Our client, a long-established company based in Co. Carlow, requires a Community Liaison Officer. Role Objective: The act as a focal point for engagement and communication between the project, local community members and other identified stakeholders, holding to the principles of respect and empowerment. The Role Involves: Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with local communities and elected representatives, including liaising with local community via house visits on a frequent basis; Have a pro-active approach to consulting local residents, elected representatives and community groups, demonstrating local support for the project as outlined in the Community Engagement & Communication Plan; Organising, attending and clearly documenting public consultation events and meetings with key stakeholders, residents etc. Drafting and distributing letters and newsletters to the public, key stakeholders and elected representatives and tracking all consultation undertaken; Developing content and keeping project website information up to date; Organising and participating in public events and facilitating visits (e.g. politicians, community councils or local schools) to the project sites; Monitoring and driving effective communications to keep the wind farm development team informed; Working as part of the project team to support the Project Manager. The successful candidate will have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to represent the project and mutual gain initiatives in group and individual settings. Politically astute in community, local and national matters. Ability to develop strong relationships with project stakeholders founded on trust and mutual respect. This is a part-time role of 2.5 days per week which would involve a certain level of flexibility (depending on the project stage). The role involves after office hours work.
