Job Description. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Engineering Lead to join our new facility at Carlow. This position will contribute to developing and implementing strategic planning in Ireland by providing medical insight and expert knowledge about the product or disease area. In addition, the role shall identify, develop and maintain credible relationships with healthcare professionals, providers and academic centres. What you will need: Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:   Leadership activities including setting the vision and direction for the Engineering team, selection, development, coaching and day to day management. Ensure that the team receives appropriate resources and programmes to develop both technical and people skills, to complete their jobs whilst stimulating personal growth and development in line with role. Develop and maintain training programmes.  Responsible for the consistent delivery of a cost effective, robust, compliant engineering service, through a combination of an outsourced facilities management partner and internal resources, that meets the requirements of the business. Both utilities and operational maintenance.  Direct and/or lead investigations re: deviations, out of tolerance conditions and unexpected results, conducting failure analysis, root cause determination and implementing corrective actions; preparation and analysis of engineering metrics reports to trend for improved operational efficiencies.  Maintain effective relationships with global engineering or equivalent to deliver on capital and expense projects as required at Carlow to meet business needs. To have accountability for project delivery as required.  Development of company standard SOPs and implementation of equipment maintenance protocols, thereby ensuring all equipment is properly operated and maintained.  Required to comply with the Company’s Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions. What skills you will need: In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; ideally in related Engineering discipline. Considerable experience and critical skills in their area of expertise that add value to the business; ideally in a manufacturing, preferably GMP setting. Strong mechanical know how – experience in utilities and/or operational maintenance. Green Belt certified  - preferred. As a company, we are committed to 'Inventing for Life' in all that we do.
